I think you missed the class on sarcasim. I took it that he was joking that the WSM was destined to have the same life expectancy as the two extremely popular rounds: 300 and 7mm magnums.

They'll probably last, but, I won't buy one. My little .243 Win. handles everything I need just fine... and the ammo isn't $40 per box.

I believe they are here to stay. Maybe not in all flavors however. In my weird opinion,I would choose 2-the 7wsm and the .325wsm. I canenvision nosituation that these 2 cannot handle.
By the way,I have what I consider was the first "shortmag" without the name-.284. Even tho it's almost dead,it shoots just as good as other short 7s.
