Default Pull Length ?

My 12 year old Grandson is ready for his first rifle. It is my privilege to buy one for him. My question is; (1) How is the proper pull length determined and (2) Is there a model on the market that would fit him now and provide a bit of room for growth later? I'm thinking of .243 or .257 caliber. I hand load, so I can build the load to match the game and his ability. Suggestions?

Default RE: Pull Length ?

LOOK INTO THE REMINGTON FIREARMA, THEY MAKE YOUTH GUNS, AND FOR THE FUTURE AS HE GROWS, JUST NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW STOCK.

AS FAR AS FIT, HAVE HIM PUT THE BUTT OF THE STOCK IN THE NOTCH OF HIS ARM, WITH MUZZLE FACING TOWARDS THE CEILING, AND HAVE HIM PLACE HIS TRIGGER FINGER ON THE TRIGGER, MAKE SURE GUN IS UNLOADED!!!

I HAVE TO HAVE ALL MY STOCKS CUT, AND HAVE IT DONE BY A GUNSMITH, I HAVE HIM TAKE OFF ALITTLE MORE THEN WHAT IS NEEDED, BECAUSE OF THE HEAVIER CLOTHING I WEAR DURING THE DEER SEASON.
