Default Canon Safe - Digital Lock

Not sure where else to post this question. I have a Canon safe with the keypad lock (not a dial). The last few times I went to open it, it didn't accept my combination on the first try or two. Now, it flat won't take it at all. I keep locking myself out. I did put in a fresh battery, but it didn't help. Has anyone had any experience with this before? I am pretty positive that nobody has been messing with the safe. Not sure if this is something that I need to call Canon about, or if there is something simple I need to try. Feel free to PM me with suggestions.

Thanks,
Yoter

Update - I did finally get it open. But afterwards, I tested it a few times with the door open and continue to have the same problem. I have not actually been able to close the door yet because it is locked in the open position. The safe is in my garage (in a locked room). Could the cold be a factor?

Not exactly sure about that particular lock system but some have a time delay. If the wrong code(s) is/are entered, you have to wait a certain time period before trying again.

It is a LaGard lock. It does not buzz or anything when opening/unlocking. It just gives me the three beeps for putting in the incorrect combination. I am going to try another battery and warm the room up a bit to see if that helps. It does have a time delay after entering in the wrong combination 4 times, but I'm not entering the wrong one...

FYI.. I just spoke with the manufacturer (Cannon). Apparently there was a certain lot of safes that ended up with bad keypads from LaGard. They are sending replacement parts and a locksmith out, free of charge. So far, I must say that the Cannon tech support/service has been very good.
