Pig- According to many gun experts including my God father who is a Investigator for the state police and has testedmany popularhunting calibers through NRA stuff and his personal love and passion of Big Game cartridges and ballistics, he says SMags are more accurate and a tad faster than traditional magnums.. His sniper buddie says they are more accurate also.He hunts with one and loves it.I don't know personally and I've never handled a 300 win mag. Ballistically I believe the 300 WSM is alittle faster.Many articles written in some top noch gun publications say short magnums are more accurate on paper.
And yes i do prefer the short bolt on these guns.
