Thinking of getting a NEF Handi Rifle in .204 Ruger. Will be shooting factory ammo as I don't yet reload rifle calibers. Are these rifles accurate enough for prairie dogs? Will likely scope it with a 6.5-20x50 or larger scope.
Thanks in advance for the responses.

It might be. Kinda depends on the individual rifle. Thecaliber has good accuracy potential - a couple of them I have built with Douglas barrels will shoot 1/2" with handloads. The NEF rifle, as you already know, is no Remington 40X. But some of them shoot pretty well - particularly if you don't try to load them too hot.

It should be, most break action single shot rifles are very accurate. I own a couple of Rossi break action single shot rifles and both shoot as well as I am capable of.

I have a Handi Rifle in .223. Doesn't seem to be too picky about loads. I have a few loads that I have worked up over the last couple of years for it, and it will shoot most anything right around an inch at 100 yards. Not GREAT, but not too bad for shooting jacks and dogs out to the 250 mark or so.

mine has shot some .620" groups, with hand loads, most days its .800-1.200", other than trigger work mine is bone stock..
for the money i'm happy, but i have a 700vs in 22-250 that is much more gun, but it cost almost 4X as much[:-][:@]
accuracy like fuel milage will vary, if you know what i mean
