I think the good ol' .22 LR would be just fine for jackrabbits, especially if you have an auto-loader.

The 22 Magnum works good for South Dakota rabbits or Texas whitetails.. Right Rammer?
I've got to go with you on this one! You nailed 'er right on the head.

Heck anything from 22lr to 500 Nitro Express makes a good bunny gun!

We do alot of rabbit hunting in the winter.A good ole 22 LR dose a great job.I use a Marlin auto and a good 3-9 scope.I like the auto when the little buggers are running.
If were talking 150-200 yds the .223 works great. We don't eat them but cash in on the bounty(1.50 to 3.00).Have a good night 100-150 rabbits pays for the gas and then some.

30-06. There is nothing it can't do. Might try 220gr roundnose. That should take care of any jackrabbitt you see.

That auto shotgun is pretty cool. I was wondering about .223. I would like to be able to really reach out and touch 'em

I was just wondering what a good gun would be for some jack rabbits. Friend just mentioned that we should do that this winter.
I would spend a fare amount of money on it, since I like having guns

.22 LR is cheap and fun too shoot, no problems for a Jack, .22 Mag is a little more to shoot but really puts the smack down on them, if you like to blow them apart go with a .22 Hornet using hollow points, bit more cost but really puts a hurt on them, now if you really wanna see something, use a 22-250 with a hollow point, can you say RED MIST!

It has other goodies to make it the perfect weapon for rabbits in large groups and hiding in under ground bunkers and behind trees.Recomended for the less than accurate shooters.

The FRAG-12 cartridges are a family of experimental 12-gauge high explosive projectiles including a High Explosive (HE) Blast round, a HE Fragmentation round and a High Explosive Armor Piercing (HEAP) projectile, with a shaped charge penetrator.
