Default Remington model 750 FAILED...

unbelievable...don't they test fire these weapons before releasing them from the factory? my pal ordered the new semi in .35 Whelen..beautiful rifle...but failed to eject the 1st round, then failed to chamber the next round. itstarted ejecting fromthe 3rd round on, but never did chamber the following round. what a disappointment.I could understand a used/unclean gun..but out of the box...this isn't right. but it is a beauty!!

Sounds about right for a centerfire Remington semi.

Did he clean it after taking it out of the box?, meaning scrub the bore, *chamber* and gas system?. I've heard alot of remington semi-auto horror stories over the years, But I've also got personal experience with a few 'chronic jammers' that cleared up with just a good, complete teardown and cleaning.
not that i'm aware of, altho, when i looked at the gun, it was as dry as any unoiled gun I've ever seen...cleaning wouldn't helped IMHO.... the "new" gas system isn't tweaked yet....
