Is there a difference in the shots velocity and energy coming from a 24" and 28" 12Ga berals at 50 yd?

According to brownings and others website, they say no. But it is kinda hard for me to believe even though shotguns and velocity don't work like the pressure system of a rifle. But shotgun powders are usually extreamely fast burners and most of your pressure is expended right at the breech, hence the thin barrels. According to brownings website, they say that reason for the 30" barrels is some shooters like the bead being longer out on the barrel.

I remember reading an article about shotgun barrel lengths that said most shotgun powders would develop maximum velocities in about 20" of barrel. I guess thats true, I really dont know.

Typical shot shells develop all their top pressure and velocities before 16.5 to 18 inches. An extra couple of inches can be allotted for especially heavy loads. Thus all the 20-inch slug and turkey barrels. The extra length in 24 to 30 inch barrels is for sighting, balance, and smooth follow through when wing shooting.

I doubt it also, since a rifle develops its peak pressure and burning intensity during 3 to 4" of the barrel even with IMR7878.
