According to brownings and others website, they say no. But it is kinda hard for me to believe even though shotguns and velocity don't work like the pressure system of a rifle. But shotgun powders are usually extreamely fast burners and most of your pressure is expended right at the breech, hence the thin barrels. According to brownings website, they say that reason for the 30" barrels is some shooters like the bead being longer out on the barrel.
