Don't feed the troll guys. Take a look at when Magnum Man 300 claims to have left and when 45/70 Gov registered. Shocking coincidence considering they both post the exact same drivel like this. My 88 year old grandmother who never hunted knows a 300 win mag is far more powerful than a 243. I find it hard to believe this thread is based on a serious inquiry.

i dont see how any one could not know that a 300 mag has more power than the 243. 243 is a light weight bullet shooter that doesnt generate no where near the knock down power of a 300 mag. I've seen a hunting buddies daughter shoot an antelope with a 243 and it acted like it never was hit. We found it later on that day.

I have shot a 710 in .270 for the past 2 seasons and haven't had any problems whatsoever.
Savage .300 Win Mag andNEF 500 S&W.
With a vital shotfrom a magnum under 100 yards, deer tend to drop in their tracks, I have seen it countless times, and anyone who wants to talk about the 30-30 being a better rifle than a magnum can send a PM my way.

I didn't check any tables but I seriously doubt the 243 will shoot flatter than the 300 mag. also jag, what do you expect to hear, as I think the 243 makes perfect whitetail medicine,If I owned one I would certainly use it.

Lol. i own a 30-30 and i used to use it when i was in my teens for elk/ deer hunting. I never killed an animal with it. Everytime i go Rifle hunting anymore i just take my .50 muzzleloader. It puts game down fast and i know where im at at 150 yards and dont have to worry about dropping the scoped 30-30and knocking it of target. Its funny to see rifle hunters blasting off 7-8 shots and go back to camp with no animal and i take a deer home with a muzzleloader during rifle season. There are more rifle hunters out there that think they are snipers and can hit anything from 400 yards away. I once went hunting with some friends, the guys carrying a 243 and he "shoots" a deer 400 yards away and is all pumped up about it sayin Yeah man i got it! Didnt you here the "whop"?!! That poor sucker spent that evening and the entire next day looking for it untill he finally shook his head in shame and said" i guess i missed" Not knocking rifle hunters at all, just a story that came to my mind. im random like that lol. Hopefully i'll be selling my 30-30 for a payment on a new Ruger .280
