Oh. Sorry. When you said "not with us anymore", I simply thought you meant he was no longer visiting the site. Had I known, I wouldn't have gone for a stupid joke based on the topic of the thread. If that is the case, my condolences to his family and friends.

Default .243 is a spectacular elk round!

I have killed more elk with a .243 than my .300 WSM, .325 WSM, and .338 RUM combined. I have over 40 years of guidIng experience in Montana and really glad when a client shows up with a .243 instead of of a .300 Win Mag. The key to bringing down elk it's good bullets, patience, and shot placement. Wish you the best of luck!

here in kentucky you can't hunt elk with a 243, it has to be 30 caliber or larger.
