I'll be sighting my 12 guage shotgun in within the next few days and have a question. I'm gonna try a few different loads to figure out what works best. I don't have a scope on it, so I'll be relying on the sights. What is the farthest I'm going to want to shoot without a scope? Is a scope something that I should look into buying? Thanks for help in advance.

Well as how far to shoot , you will have to make that decision. With today’s ammo shot guns are good out to 150 yards. You need to practice and become proficient at shooting long range.. I would invest in a scope .. I use a 1.5 x4 on mine plenty of scope for the woods I hunt.. I saw a Simmons at wall mart for 68.00..
