Just got a new Tika T-3 in 270WSM with wood stock. I gave $479 for it and am wondering if that is a pretty good deal or not? Got the last one in stock, last years model. The salesman told me the new ones would be around $50 higher. Zeak

Sounds like a good deal, if stainless you got a steal, if blued you still got a good deal. Guns in general are overpriced in my area for the most part but I think other areas would be hard pressed to match or beat that price.

You did good. The last time I priced a Tikka they were all in the 550 range or higher. Local gunshop said last spring that all Tikkas in his shop would be jumping 80 dollars in price with this years shipment.

Yes that is a good deal. I paid just $10 more than that 3 and 2 years ago for a T3 .300 WM and then a .30-06, also hardwood stock and blued. Most places I see now they are asking at least $100 more for wood and blued. The synthetic stock blued are around $500 in local shops here. They've actually dropped somewhat lower than the wood, I'm told, because Tikka manufacturers have perfected the synthetic injection system they use to make the stock.
I still like a wood stock for the look, but wouldn't hesitate to buy a synthetic either, if I hunted a lot in rugged country.
