Given the choice to have 1 gun to chase all game.... what would you prefer to have, a Benelli superblack eagle II or a Remington 11-87?? why????? Both in 3and 1/2

If it was me I wouldn't but a 3 1/2" unless you are using it for turkeys, and I would opt for the M1 Super 90 or the M2 Benelli.

I have a 11-87 but if I could afford it would own the Benelli. It fits me great but costs twice what my 11-87 SPS 3 1/2" did.

I agree, Benelli hands down. Reliability of operation round after round. Inertia bolt system is superior. Simplicity and fewer parts to brackdown for cleaning. Easy to tear down completely and put together fast. Lighter weight than most gas operated ejection autoloader. I think it has less recoil. Fits well.

I agree with the other person though. Unless you think you wantto shoot 3 1/2 regularly, (geese and turkeys) get the M1 Super 90. I've had one for over 5 years. I REALLY like how mine has performed year in and year out for ducks, geese, pheasant, grouse, with slugs on deer, etc. etc.

Went to Bass Pro this week end just to look around... Well I ended up at the gun rack... Was looking at the turkey guns and seen a Benelli pump(camo) Asked the guy too let me check it out... I got as far as pulling the slide back when it got stuck in the open position... Had a hard time getting it to go forward... Gave the gun back and thought to my self Yea those benelli's are the sh!@

That sounds like "operator error" to me.
The question was about autoloaders "Super Black Eagle" or 11 87. I've seen my buddy's Remington gas operated autoloader fail to eject or load too many times to go with one. The funny thing was that he found that his shotgun had more trouble properly ejecting Remington shells than other brands.

Without a doubt the Benelli is the top shotgun.

I would be looking at the Franchi before the 11-87. I just got back from a shoot where I was able to try the 11-87, SBE 2, Beretta Xtrema and Franchi I-12. Of all of them, I would put the I-12 and SBE 2 very close to each other and well differentiated from the other two. Personally, I am not at a level where I could see a great difference between the two, although I did think the Franchi had less recoil. Only problem for me is the Franchi doesn't come in 3 1/2" (3" max), and I already have an M1 Super 90, so no real need.

I think it would be safe to assume that all Benelli autoloaders use inertia, so maybe the question you need to answer for yourself is whether you like the inertia systems or the gas systems better; then you can nail down the model.
