Well, either will do well. More important than the difference between the two is the construction. 150 grains is just fine, but use a bonded bullet. I have found that a smaller weight bullet that isnt bonded has a hard time holding together after impact under a hundred yards. Just my opinion. EJ

i like the 150 gr better. you can get 150 gr in a larger variety of bullets in factory loads and they have a better trajectory. they will kill virtually any game well so i think you have the advantage with the 150 gr bullet

Which ever shoots and fits your hunting situation best. Assuming the bullet you choose in 150 and 165 gr shoots equally, then either will work. The only beneifit with the 150 is a slightly flatter trajectory, which only matters if longer range is in your hunting sitaution (200 plus yard).

in my 308's and 30-06 ive shot 150 grain factory loads for years, i dont know why but when I began reloading I began using 165 grain bullets. but have been thinking about going back to 150 grainers in a couple of my 308's. i guess the 165 will hold onto its kinetic energy longer at longer ranges then a 150 will, which is probably why i chose 165's when i started reloading. 150's will shoot a tad flatter and honestly might perform (mushroom) a little better on deer size game since the sectional density is somewhat less. but either will kill game just fine. you should buy a box of each and just see which your gun likes better. honestly it comes down to personal preferance anyway.
