270's

If ammo availability on the wsm is low in your area the win is just fine. I personally wouldn't buy a cartridge that i had trouble find components for just b/c it kicks it up a small notch...fact is a deer won't know the difference if hit with a 100-200 fps faster pill! Also like mentioned many wsms are coming withthe shorterbarrels (23"), so a 24" win would narrow that performance gap slightly.
As far as recoil the wsmsI have tried have given slightly more or comparable to their standard cousins in terms of felt recoil, due to a lighter rifle the wsm typically comes in. Apples to apples in rifle style and weight i'd imagine most wouldn't notice much of a difference.
I'd do some local research on ammo and get your hands on a few of both, then make your decision...either way the 270's will get her done for ya!
BTW I have a 270 win and have had one in my cabinet for the past 20 years. It work well for antelope to moose with the proper bullet and some self imposed limitations. Mine now is relegated to back up duty as I have been using 7mm rem mags for a number of years as my hunting CF choice. Still think the .277 cal is a good choice, especially when deer are the main quarry!

If you are recoil sensitive the 25-06 will do anything that the 270win will on deer.If recoil is not a problem the 7mmremmag offers about the same recoil as a 270wsm and offers a much better selection of factory loads. It is also just a bit better for use on larger game such as elk and moose. Some people will claim that the recoil of the 270wsm is less than that of the 7mmremmag,but most of the rifles chambered in 270wsm are lighter than the 7mmremmag,and less weight increases feltrecoil.
