FWIW Randy Anderson has some coyote hunting videos and he has a friend with the Savage combo in his video and he makes several long rifle shots with his with a scope on it. At least the rifle part of his isn't junk as the coyotes looked real dead. He had see-thru mounts so that he could see down the barrel for shotgun shots I believe. There have been several times with my coyote hunting that if I would have had a shotgun and a rifle instead of just a rifle I would have been better off instead of having a coyote pop out of the weeds at 20 yds and bust you and run and all you have is a 3 second window of a shot before he is gone. Great gun for a predator caller; I don't know why I don't have one.

(they may not be the nicest toolsin the shed but I doubt they are "junk")
I don't own one, but they "aren't" junk, and when someone makes a statement like that "without" ever owning one or evenuseing one. Well, it makes everything else they say "suspect" too...

I know guys that have them as a "work gun" that they don't have to baby, and they shoot well and are reliable. At least you can "ajust" the rifle bbl to the shot bbl., that's more than you can do with the Savage. Of all of the Savages i've owned, "not one" of them would shoot to the same place the shot bbl diduseing the iron sights.

After handling a gun and I think it is junk then I don't buy it, is that hard for you to comprehend. I take any of your advice with a grain of salt as well.

They also make some resonably priced double rifles as well. A side by side 45/70 is one I'd like to get my hands on and shoot.
The same gun that is not found anywhere after being advertised for how long ?Do you think maybe it has some problems ?

I don't care what you buy or don't buy... All i'm saying is, you in your eariler post made a "blanket statement" that they are junk. You also say you haven't even fired one... I happen to know guys that OWN them and areHAPPY with them. They say that the guns shoot well, and are NOT breaking down. That pretty much shoots your theory out of the water that "they are junk".

Like i said before, i handled a new Baikal double and it looked better than i thought it would. Once again, i'm not reading of failures, are you??? Please point me to anyplace on the net where i can read about OWNERS hateing them because they failing or are haveing problems with them.

Just because they don't fit "your taste" does NOT make them junk!

BTW, i once had a guy tell me my Valmet 412 was junk because it didn't have the "fit and finish" of hisHeym veerling, butthat didn't make it true now did it??? I regularly shot better groups with my Valmet than he could with his Heym.

And you evidently don't own one either now do you ? So I am basically relying on hearsay from your "Friends" and am supposed to believe it, thats a large sample group..what you have 3 people you know that own them? I handle the guns I choose to buy and then draw conclusions based on what I see . Evidently you don't like my opinion and then resort to questioning my character. In the future you can just ignore my posts like I plan onignoring yours.Have a Good Day

Are you missing my point AGAIN? OR are you one of those guys that just hates to be wrong or questioned???? No need to get upset about it... i'm NOT at all.

No i don't own one either, but the word of 3 people that each OWNone sure as heck is worth more thana personthat has only LOOKED at one, don't you agree??

There's a guy named doug over at greybeard that likes his very much, and has shot his quite a bit... He has posted about it several times. I'll paste one of his post below for readers here to judge for themselves.

I think the folks that read this will understand what i "ment" with my answer, perhaps you will too after you cool off a while???

Dougs post,

After thinking about this for some time I have decided to keep the Baikal Combo. It just keeps getting better. The rifled choke shoots a 1 inch group at 50 yards. The turkey choke I just ordered has taken turkey at 67 yards. The 30-06 is consistantly in the 10 ring at 100 yards.

What more could you want from a combo? Ok so it is not the best looking gun but it keeps going and going...

Doug
