Has anybody used one of these with the muzzle brake. I wondering what the pro's and con's are. It say's it reduces felt recoil by 30%. does that effect vellocity?

No, a brake does not effect velocity unless the barrel is shortened in order to compensate for the added length of the brake.
However, it will greatly increase muzzle blast and noise. You will need to either invest in some electronic ear muffs to hunt with or get use to hunting with plugs in.
In the cartridges that that gun is available in you really don't need a brake. None of them kick all that bad.

Thank you bigbulls,
I want to get a new gun and saw those on their web sight. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing to have or not. Sounds like it's not.

I agree with big bulls completely. Get a Benchmaster or Caldwell Lead Sled. Avoid muzzle brakes for any field application. A muzzle brake will slightly increase velocity, believe it or not. Apparently, after the bullet leaves the barrel, the gasses are able to continue to push on the base of the bullet a little better going through the brake than they can without the muzzle brake.

I would suspect that the muzzle break slows the escape of the heat and gases. Although if the break does not increase the overall length of the barrel, this would probable not be true.
