Default Winchester M94 Black Shadow 30-30 ?

Hello All,

Do you guys know what the black shadow designation means? Is it a higher end 30-30. Would you know how old it could be based upon knowing it is a Black Shadow?

Thanks
Tom

I think it just has a synthetic stock but don't hold me to that. I just found a like new Model 94 Ranger at a pawn shop and picked it up. It has just a hardwood stock. I think a 20 inch barrel. I don't think its been fired.

How much would you pay for a rifle like this that is claimed to have never been shot?

How much did you pick yours up for James?

Thanks
Tom

249.00. Thats about what Walmart sold them for just before the Winchester flame out. Now if you can find one, most gun shops are getting, or trying to get 500.00 for any Model 94. I wouldn't pay that but I quess 300.00 -350 would be a bargin. I wanted to be sure I had a coupls 94's while they were still around. After the smoke clears though, there are so many of them floating around that I would think they will settle down a bit. I still would think that someone will pick up their plant here but most experts doubt that it will happen and that the 70 and 94 are history. What Model 70's that I have seen have gone up a couple hundred buck a head.

In the end it just depends on how bad you want to have one for sure.

The guy wants $350 for it. I am going to pass because I am more partial to the Marlins anyway. If he could lower the price to around $200 I'd have to pick it up. Otherwise I think she will be going home with someone else.

The mod 70's on the other hand are a different story. I think there lose is going to be serious. I find them to be better than the 700s though most people on here will argue that to no end.

Thanks for the info James
