Your whitetail gun. If its a 30-30, 35, .444 or 45-70 check out Hornady's lever evolution.

7mm all the way! I prefer the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw though.

(DB, I agree. However my thoughts are if a poster is looking for to the point info he or she should at least qualify their post or intentions with some facts/information

Out of these two choices only which would you choose fo flat open country mule deer hunt?

.257 Weathebry mag with 110 accubonds or 100 grain partitions

or

.7mm Rem Mag with 150 grian Sciroccos

Thanks in Advance

I am not sure this orignal post gets any clearer. I appreciate all the positive responses. I do own several of the above rifles and many others included those listed. However I really have found that the .257 wby and .300 weatherby are my best rifles. However I have achieved same hole accuracy with those rifles and loads listed above. Again I want to thank everyone for there help. I also want to say a special thanks to those that stayed right to the point of the post. I am leaning towards the .257 accumark with the 110 accubonds. Thanks again to all.

I think that is very true. It just seems like alot of posts get replys that just have nothing to do with the topic.

ORIGINAL: Doe Dumper

HDW from everything I read it usually takes more than one shot from anything on Elk. Hope to find out one of these days.
Never had tyo shoot an elk more than once. True, they aretough, and do not often just hit the ground right away, often covering quite a bit of ground first! But I think the worst in this respect is BULLWINKLE!! He is easy to kill, but hard to get to drop on the spot!
