Default browning lever guns

Does any one know anything about the BLR in 270 or 300 WSM? I am considering getting one, preferably the 270 WSM. I shoot left handed and have used several lever guns over the years. I am mostly concerned about accuracy at 200+ yds.

Just make sure you can live with the trigger. It's almost impossible to find someone to work on it. Good luck.

Well, mine is a .308, so this is a little off-topic. The accuracy of my BLR is quite good, and it's the only gun I'll deer hunt with.

This year I bought and used a stainless BLR in .300WSM. I love this rifle more than any other. While hunting I never noticed it, but when sighting the rifle in it will jump from the light weight and give you a scope cut. The other thing I learned was not to use Weaver bases. Get the Leupold bases and rings for the BLR and you will have no problems. I only have the .300 for the possibility of Elk and Bear, otherwise I would have the .270 WSM. Good choice.

BTW, Use the new Winchester 140 gr. Supreme Fail Safe ammo and you will be impressed.

The only BLR I ever had was one of the early ones in .358 Winchester. Despite its' 20" barrel, it produced over 2400 FPS with the Speer 250-grain spitzer and 51.5 grains of WW748 powder. It also shot into 1" with this load. Granted, its' trigger was not match-grade, but was not all that bad, either. Like a fool, I tradedthis gun off. What a mistake that was! If I were not significantly undercapitalized in the firearms department, I'd get another BLR - and it would be a .358 again!

Thanks for the help.I have a BLR .308 and like it, and had a .243 that shot really well. I need to hit the overtime pretty hard to get a stainless BLR 270 wsm, but I can see it happening.

Ditto!!

I had one in 308. Loved the gun except for the trigger, which was very heavy and very creepy. In other words, ittotally sucked! I could not find a gunsmith that would touch it, and couldn't live with it the way it was, so I finally sold the gun.
