Where are you getting those numbers?Out of a 26" barrel the maximum velocity for a 140gr bullet out of a 7mmRUM is approximately 3600fps.

4200 is about 500 fps past the "beyond belief" threshold. This is either a typo or your chronograph needs to go back for recalibration.

No way!! The fastest I got out of my 7RUM is 3600 FPS with a 140gr. Bullet. I went with a load that produced only 3450FPS because it was much more accurate!!

James B got the skinny on this one. you need to compare similar weight FOR CALIBER to compare apples to apples so to speak. Your .30 cal bullet was light for caliber while your 7mm was heavy for caliber. As you go down range the heavier bullets retain energy better on a percent basis.

If you made an outrageous claim and then had 3-5 guys completely tell you that you were 100% wrong with such a stupid claim would you return?I mean come on man......this isnt some kindergarten class, we have guys in here that shoot multiple times a week with the very gun you are maing these claims about and know that they are bull.

All are good choices---- just wonder how many 800 yd. shots a person ever takes or SHOULD take----both will kill REAL dead--one won't kill any deader than the other. Just my humble opinion, however---
