If you could get a 7 RUM or STW to go 4200, it would indeed be the flattest shooting big game rifle made today. Now if I could only get my Honda Accord to go 200 mph . . . . . .
4200 is about 500 fps past the "beyond belief" threshold. This is either a typo or your chronograph needs to go back for recalibration.

James B got the skinny on this one. you need to compare similar weight FOR CALIBER to compare apples to apples so to speak. Your .30 cal bullet was light for caliber while your 7mm was heavy for caliber. As you go down range the heavier bullets retain energy better on a percent basis.

All are good choices---- just wonder how many 800 yd. shots a person ever takes or SHOULD take----both will kill REAL dead--one won't kill any deader than the other. Just my humble opinion, however---
