A Key Note on this topic from a former duck hunter and current deer and dove hunter.
DO NOT STOP YOUR FORWARD MOTION..... Think about the fact that your gun barrel is a extension of your eye. As you pull the trigger keep the gun barrel moving with the deer. Your strike percentage will go up. Try it on the rolling wheel and you will see what I mean. I have practiced this process with a wheel and a 22 rifle, just for the " running deer shot".
Practice, Practice, Practice - with a 22 if possible. Its a fun game and it will put meat on the table.
