Scope finish opinions
I just ordered a TC Encore rifle in 7mm-08 with the stainless frame and barrel and black composite stock (sweeet). I'm not sure which scope I should put on it - I don't own a stainless rifle yet. What is your opinion on a black scope on a stainless rifle? What about black or silver rings with the black scope? I have a Leupold XII with the black gloss finish but I'm wondering how it will look. I'm wondering if I should shell out the money for a black matte or possible a silver one. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

RE: Scope finish opinions
I have a 44 Rem. Mag. Super Red Hawk and it is satin stainless steel. It has a black gloss scope on it and it looks pretty good. It might look a little bit better with a black matte scope. The contrast between finishes looks very nice. Good luck.

I prefer the matte finished scopes over the gloss ones.Either the silver or matte black will look good on your Encore. If you have to buy one for this new Encore then you decide what you want. You said you already have one so use what you have.Save your money for a rainy day.I have a matte silver Leupold on my M-77 "All Weather" and it looks really good on it.Ruger Redhawk

RE: Scope finish opinions
I only care about cost, service, and what it looks like THROUGH the scope, not so much when I look AT it. I do however prefer the matte black, but will not fork over an extra $40.00 for it.....maybe $10.00. My preference for the matte is only because it will shine less in the woods and tend to not cause little sparkles and reflections that could spook game.
