Go back up an re-read post #3. "Not possible. No bullet has a ballistic coefficient high enough to lose only 25 fpsevery 50 yards". That sounds like a pretty sweeping, broad, and general statement to me.My wife does this occasionally . . . . uses words like "never" and "always" . . . . .

I can certainlyunderstand your interpretation of my statement as made, but as I previously stated, the topic dealt solely with the 257wby so I didn't feel that it was necessary to add the qualifier that it must be fired in a 257wby.Judging by your reply,I guess that I should have. Before making my statement I checked every commercially available.257" bullet that I could find and none would lose only 25fpsevery50 yards when fired at the velocities possible with a 257wby.In fact none were even close.

I CALLED AND DID TALK TO BOB AT HORNADY AND I STATED I HAD A 24 INCH BARREL FOR MY 257 WBY. I WAS TOLD AT 1OO YDS-3,266, 200 YDS-3,043 AND 300 YDS-2,831 DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT!

That does sound a lot more reasonable, but the only way to know for sure is with the use of a chronograph.
