I believe when the time comes, you will be able to replace the youth stock with an adult stock without any problems.

You may never grow out of it. My son has a 700 Youth model and I think if I moved the scope forward as far as it would go, I could shoot this all day long - as long as it wasn't a harder recoiling caliber such that my RH fingertips might split my lip (again). You may wind up liking the shorter stock.

The "youth" models and the "adult" models are EXACTLY the same.....except that the length of pull is 1" shorter on the youth models...and the barrel is usually 20" in length (I'm not sure about the .223). It is absolutely no problem to change to the "adult" stock. I have had a couple of "youth" model 700s, which I chose specifically for the 20" barrel. I simply changed the stocks (to aftermarket ones)....which I would have done anyway.
