Winchester Partition Slugs
Hi all, I was wondering what the best way to sight these slugs in would be. I am using the 3 inch shells and I would appreciate advice on how they shoot and distances they work well with. Also what is the minimum distance I can shoot thatwould bezeroed at 100 yards. ie. 25 yards out is the same as 100 yards etc.
Thanks

RE: Winchester Partition Slugs
I've shot these slugs for about 4 years now (the 2-3/4 ones) and I'll start by saying Great choice! I truly love them! I've found that if you're at zero at 50 then you'll not change much at 100. To really get the most out of these slugs, sight your gun in and zero them in at least 100. I've got mine zeroed at 125 and theyhardly drop at 150! Last year I shot a buck at 23 yards and it was dead nuts on. And the year before I shot a doe at 145 and aimed right for the shoulder and she didn't run a yard! They are very capable of taking a whitetail at 200 yards as long as you know where your shootin and where to aim! I zeroed in one time at 150 and at 200yards I experienced about 4" of drop!!!
You'll be very happy with these slugs.
Good Luck!

RE: Winchester Partition Slugs
With this slug the ideal sight in is +2.8 at 100yds. This will give a 175yd point blank range.
Partitions
YDS......Inches
50.........+2.1
100.......+2.8
150........0
175.......-2.9
If you are sighting in your gun for the first time I would recomend that you also try the Remington Core Lokt Ultra's. They have a slightly better trajectory and on average are more accurate. Accuracy of a particular slug differs from gun to gun, that is why I recommend that you try both before you make a final decision concerning your sighting in.
Core Lokts
Remington Core Lokt Ultra
Muzzle.....-1.5
50............ .8
100...........2.4
150..............0
200..........-6.2

RE: Winchester Partition Slugs
This was on the one speedster slugs that shot ok in my 2 slug guns. It shoots 3MOA pretty consistently. Maybe 2.5MOA. But 3MOA is not good enough to ultilize the extra range you get. I get 2MOA out of copper solids 2.75". I always seem to come back to them. But the winchesters are ok.
