Default Had fun today at the range.

I had a blast today at the range. A fellow teacher who has built 3 guns and has many others brought a few today at the range. Many were calibers I shot for the first time.

Here were my new ones I shot
30-06 Browning Awesome groups. Won me a free lunch as I out shot him
308Homemade Kicked like a mule.So did the 30-06 Made meatloaf out of my shoulder.LOL
We shot lots of black powder ,and Mausers 8MM etc. but nothing else new in rifles.

Pistol
44 Magnum Awesome Smith and Wesson. I wanted to buy the gun from him I loved it. Stung my hand but nice groups and alot of gun. He wouldn't sell it.

Sounds like a good day. I really like the 44 Magnum as well. However if I were to invest in one, it would be the Ruger. The Blackhawk or Redhawk are both stronger guns.

I teach 3rd grade in Polk county. My wife also teaches 3rd in the same school. You have some mighty good hunting up there.

Thanks ALL for the replys. I forgot I also shot a 44 Magnum Marlin.Does that sound right?44 Magnum rifle? Anyway ..we had a rough time with groups on that rifle. We wore one of those 1" recoil pad harnesses and still, neither one of us liked shooting the 30-06. Serious kick. He also had 3 different types of rounds for the 44 magnum pistol. There was one box of rounds he wouldn't shoot. He made me.Serious blast. You could feel the jolt half way up your forearm.LOL Sweet gun ...Big Country ,I must say I was getting somewhat covetous as I really was hoping he would sell me the gun. No flaws ...pure black..pure Smith and Wesson. Light as a feather.

C ya

Actually he had both guns. The other is called the Contender. It has a 30-30 barrel and a 22 barrel. Extremely accurate.

Loading was a hassle though and very heavy.IMHO Not very practical .
