Congrats on your find! Sounds pretty good. For a scope, unless you're really dead set on a fixed power, you might want to check out the Weaver 1-3x 20mm. Comes matte finished, and makes a great little scope for the Marlin.

Thanks - I'm going to compare a Weaver 1 - 3 to a couple others (a used Leupold 4X and some sort of low power variable Bushnell Trophy). Those are the only three I have available that are fairly low power and fairly compact.
