i would go, out of the choices, for the browning or the m-70. with either of them. the 280 would be nice but 06 ammo is more commen and easier to get.

Winchester Model 70- I just bought one 3 weeks ago in 7mm-.08 (used, 1950) and have been to the range with it twice. Managable recoil and so far it seems to be accurate enough for me.I'd suggest the same: less recoil than the 30-06 and comparable performance unless you're going for big game (Moose, Bear). The true test will be when I get it out into the field. Good luck to you.

I agree with every smart man on the board...lol. Get the model 70 30-06.
First off it is the best looking gun made by in America and you get CRF and the model 70 action.

Browning and Winchester are both owned by the same company (Herstal Group) the FN guys that make the nifty 5.7 mm handgun. But most of Brownings new guns are being made in Japan. Most winchester (if not all of them are still being made here in the USA)
