nice story and nice shooting. i hope some day i can shoot that well! i dont think i'll compete though, i was told once that doing serious competition shooting takes the fun out of shooting altogether.

I was really surprised the guys that shoot comp. will help you anyway they can I had more fun just being there ever if I had lost, but I have found that most not all but most people involved in guns and hunting are a great bunch of people and will help anyway they can. 1/4 inch at 300 yards with no sights

just to let you know they shoot in groups hunting rifle, parsel custom and full custom there was one guy ther is no telling how much money he had in his gun $4000. to $5000. I would guess I could not beleave the group he shot at 500 yards he shot a 5 shot group right at 1 inch he walk away with $3500.00 for that group but if you have that much in a gun you better win

"but some one being a smarta$$ said if I can shoot that good I should go and shoot some matches"
That was me being dead serious, and congratulations.
My response appears below. I thought I was being helpful towards your questions. And while I expressed doubt I didn't think I was rude. You had a chance to reply and you did.
QUOTE The st alb vt stands for St. Albans Vermont which is the location of the guns import. I cant remember the name of the importer from there, Century International I think.
If it is all original and has all matching numbers you should leave it as is. There are some folk that would give you over $300.00 for it
AND....if you are shooting .75" 3 shot groups at 200 yards with military iron sights you should ENTER SOME SHOOTING CONTESTS IMMEDIATELY.
Sure you didn't move the decimal in the wrong place? Even a 7.5 inch group at 200 yards with irons would be decent man! QUOTE
The winning target would be nice to see. How about posting here to show your skill?
