Default Howa 300 wsm

I just ordered a Howa 300 wsm thumbhole sporter and was wondering if anyone owned one and what they thought about them. I talked to alot of people and they all said they were great guns with no complaints. I know they are basically the weatherby vanguard but I haven't talked to anyone about those.

I echo the previous post regarding the Howa 1500 Lightning's plastic Butler Creek Stock. My Howa in 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser would not keep 3 shots in less than 2 inches at 100 yards with any consistency until I replaced the plastic stock with a Boyd's laminated wood stock and glass bedded the recoil lug. I never did attempt to glass bed the plastic stock, so maybe it would have worked had I tried it, but it had major bedding issues as it came and although the laminated stock is quite a bit heavier I much prefer its' looks and the improved accuracy it provided. The Howa action seems great and I would not hesitate to rebarrel it once the factory barrel is shot out.

Thanks for the replies guys. I can't wait to pick it up this week and take it to the range. Hopefully the wood stock will provide a little better accuracy than the synthetic and I absolutely love the thumbhole stocks. I have one on my thompson inline and have never fealt more comfortable holding a gun. I'll let you know how I make out once I get it sighted in.
