A friend of mine had one on a Ruger M14 and he absolutely loved it. Now I know that a M14 is not a pistol, but the essentials are still the same. I know that occasionally, if you didn't line your eye into the glass just right, you would get a horrid glare (kinda like an oncoing car at night in the rain!). And the only other thing that I can think of against it versus a traditional scope is that you have to turn the Red Dots OFF! He has ran down a few batteries on that account alone. But other than that, they are great.

battery operated.
over 100yds it takes up most of the target.
not adjustable to see if that is a doe or buck in the thick stuff.
pros..
good snap shooting scope.
you don't have to have the dot in the center to get a accurate shot.
