Count my vote for the .35 Whelen....... any North American creature within 250 yards is capable of being taken with it.

I've never hunted Moose before.We don't see many down south.

If I did get the chance I would go with the Whelen. The Moosebeing such a big creature, I would go with the bigger heavier bullet the Whelen has.If I anticipated a long shot then I might consider the 7mm RM or a 300 Win Mag.. The Whelen is a fine cartridge and should serve your needs.

Chopper, the last bull moose I killed in Alberta, I killed with
a 6.5mm Swede> Norma 156gr " Alaska" ammo. IMO
a 30-06 0r 7mm Mag will do.
