I'd choose the 35 Whelen but that's only because it's different and I don't have one yet myself.

The dead moose will never know the difference between the two.

However, like TerryM said........ Bring both with you. I sure would hate to have one break and not have a back up.

I would use the more accurate gun, but as everyone else said both will work.

I would pick the 7mag just because it can go the distance and i my self have already been charged by a moose and thank god for my dads decision to go behind a tree that was v shaped so we could put our gun in between the "v" tree (this animal seen us at 150yrds and started to charge) but what ever made it turn around a start to run the other way god only knows!!!! its a scary moment considering i was only 12yrs old!!!!!!! And i was hunting ek and deer and i really didn't want to shoot it if it came in my danger zone(50yrds or closer)and i knew my dad and i would drop it between a 30-30 and a 300wm but we where trying to avoid that sittuation as much as possible. But i would be pick the 7mag because i wouldn't want to get that close to a moose again and the bullet wouldn't drop that fast, and most of the moose i have seen have been at least 200 yrds away or more (beside the one that charged me) and i myself don't know much about a 35whelen just its ballistics (i really haven't paid much attention to the tragectory so i woldn't know) and the 7mag is kinda in the same area between there ballistics but the 7mag can reach the distance with out that much pick up on the gun(if u know what i mean!!!!!!) But that is my opinion and i thought you would want to hear that story and know that they will charge you even if u are a group of people with you< i would have to say i was very luck with this situation!!!!!!!!! But the deccsion is on you and what you are comfortible with...

Personally I'd opt for the Whelen, my load would be a 225 gr partition though, nothing wrong with the TBBC's just that they always fouled my barrels something terrible. Anyhow, I agree bring both if it was me I'd be bringing the 06 and the Whelen.

If you're counting votes, put me in the Whelen camp.

My moose gun is a .35 Whelen, and I wouldn't own a 7mm RemMag.

I've hunted and harvested moose with both the 7 Rem. mag., and the 350 Rem. mag.. Both would work, but the 7 mag. would be better for longer shots. The thing is, i'd want a better bullet in the 7 mag. like 160 grain NP's..

i would stik with the 35 at minimal ranges,plus it would be a excellent brush or close quarters shooter. topped with a good scope you cant go wrong. but then u talk of range, the range rifle hands down in this compariosn is the 7 mag . i have a 7mm and use to ahve a 35 both excellent guns currently im in love with mey savage 7mm rem mag.
