Default Question for Stubblejumper concerning 7 STW

Stubble , I am interested in getting a 7 STW...have you ever used a straight factory gun in this caliber and how did it shoot?

I have never owned a factory 7mmstw but I have shot a factory sendero in 7mmstw.Accuracy was around 3/4" and velocity at 3400fps.The owner was using the exact same load as I use in one of my stw's so I ran a few through my rifle to compare velocities. My own rifle produced 3520fps with his loads. In comparison the sendero weighed about 3/4 of a pound more than my rifle shot groups about 1/4" larger and produced about 100fps less than my custom. As a factory rifle the sendero was as good as you can expect for the money.

Thanks for the info guys...Stubble that was what I figured it the Sendero weighs a bit too much and the accuracy/weight ratio will be better if I build a custom not to mention probably a little higher velocity. DG I was looking at a Sendero and a Model 70 SS classic. I have a 700 mag action laying and I will have it rebarreled to that and also fit it in a Mcmillan stock.
