i was thinking if worse comes to worse i'll borrow one of my grpa's. but i've been thinking maybe i could find a cheap package gun or a used gun. i'm thinking of probably a bolt in anything EXCEPT a 30-06. i want to get a 30-06 in a browning bar after i get a REAL job. so maybe a 7mmo8 or a 270 or something like that. anyone have any suggestions on used rifles? what do pawn shops sale guns for these days?

Hard to go wrong with a Savage. New or used they are a good value. As far as cartridge choice goes, I like the 7mm-08, but the 270 Win is good too. I went looking at a few pawn shops around here a few days ago and I found that gunshops that deal in used firearms generally have much better deals and better condition guns.

hey quilly that site looks EXCELLENT. have you had any problems with that website?
as for guns im thinking either a 7mmO8, 270 winchester, or a 308 winchester. later on in life i'll get a 30-06 in a browning bar and probably a 300 winchester mag for bigger game. right now i just need a regular rifle that will do a good job on a deer and i can't think of any better calibers than those three. im not wanting a magnum for whitetail because i see NO SENCE in getting a magnum for a poor whitetail. thanks for the site quilly i'll take a look around.

jjoel..
they sell and recieve new used guns every day. as for the 30-06's they have 29 there now. about 2 months ago they had about 53 so there selection changes day to day.
by the way how far are you shots averaging? i would pick either the 270win or the 308win. or how about the 260rem?? another good deer caliber. you can get a 140gr. bullet just like the 7mm-08rem. but that is just my opinion.
