steering froze up

Default steering froze up

My steering on my evinrude 140 hp outboard is froze and I can't get it unstuck. Anybody got any suggestions.

It is probably in the cable and it might be easiest to just replace it. Try disconnecting the linkage and see if the motor turns. i bet it will and then you can try to add grease to the fitting on the front of the motor. If that doesn't work then it is time to buy a new cable.

I had a boat with a Mercury motor do the same,it took a new set of cables.
