RE: Steelhead fishing
I usually go steelhead fishing in 18mile creek off Lake Erie.I usually hit the first bridge.I also fish Cayuga Creek in Lancaster,NY near Como Park.Unfortunately I wasn't able to get out at all this fall due to knee surgery, but all this talk is giving me the itch. After deer season I might have to try my luck.I use a 10 1/2 ft St.Croix with a Penn 4300ss reel and 4 to 6 lb test line. The 4 is a real challenge to get them in.I usually don't catch too many but it is rare that I go home skunked even in chocolate brown water. The number for the western NY fishing hotline is (716)855-3474.Very informative.I also like to hit the Olcott pier on Lake Ontario.I've even been seen at Burt Dam,but it is hard to fish with all the guys and the snagging going on even though it is supposed to be illegal.Great pics guys. Also one of my nics on yahoo is steelheadmaster2000.
