I enjoyed the video and would love to try that sometime. I did not like how the guide netted it though as it is an easy way to loose a fish netting them like that. I didn't see it jump up out of the water either.. Although I know a big fish like those must give a great fight just the same. Thanks for sharing..

Hi Phil, Yes I was really hoping that one would of jumped out of the water. Those Steelhead jump to try and shake the hook off. We had a number of them do that when we were fishing off the shore. Most of our fishing was done on the shore. At the end of the day we would troll down the salmon river to fish off the boat. The best part of that catch was that we saw the fish going for the bait 6ft from the boat in a hole. He tired out my buddy just trying to reel him in. It was a great weekend of fishing. The best yet. If you are within driving distance to Altmar, NY. I recommend a weekend up there. In the Fall they have the Salmon running which adds another level of excitement.
