Grand Rapids, MI Dam

I lived a short time in Grand Rapids, Michigan about 25 years ago. During certain times of the year you were allowed to snag salmon below the dam. Do they still allow that there? When do they do it?

I don't think snagging is allowed anywhere in Michigan anymore. But there's some pretty good steelie fishing now where you're talking about.
