1st time ice fishing in years.
i haven't had much time to go ice fishing in 4-5 years. so finally i got to sat. i got up good and early met a buddy of mine and off we went. i had to stop by my dads and pick the auger so i figured i'd get some minnows and waxies on the way to his house. well the bait shop wasn't open. thats ok i just grabbed the bait my dad had from the day before.
well i get to the lake and start drilling holes. drilled between 20-25 holes. get all done and reach in my pocket and realize 2 cans of waxies bust open inside my pocket. then i start putting in tip-ups. iget the first one untangled and ready to go open up the minnow bucket and find about 20 dead minnows. 0 live ones. i walk back to my truck to get my phone and call my dad to bring more minnows. my buddy walks up and says. "sorry ijust locked your keys in your truck." once i finally get my spare key which was 45 miles away i unlock the door and set the alarm off on my truck. 5 hrs later and close to an hour on the phone with a dodge dealer the alarm is still screwed up. some sort of glitch in the system. so my dad had to tow me to my sisters house a few miles away.
after all that bulls*** had only about 6-7 flags all day and caught one snake northern. i may never go fishing again[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

LOL, If it wasn't for the adventure what fun would it be? Sometimes stuff happens but that's the way it goes. Do you think you would be more carefull the next time out? If so then why give up a great day in the great outdoors. Sure the fish do not always bite that's what fishing is tho. I had day after day and no bites and then go again and limit out in less tha hour. Whether using fish finders or not you can find the fish but still can't make them bite. I enjoy just getting out and enjoying some company of a good friend. Some day you will look back on what had just happened and laugh about it.. Better luck the next time you go out!
Besides it's not always about catching fish it's about being in the great outdoors. The fact of be able to do that and when catching fish it's a bonus to a great day out enjoy a friendship.. There's a lot of folks that wish they could get a chance to do just that..
