Default More comments on Power Pro...

Last week my son and I got broken off at least 5 times using 20 pound Power pro..I know how to tie alot of knots including the Palomar..I really didn't think it mattered. I do like the spinning reel drags much better than the bait casters and today my son and I had our shiners on spinning tackle, and the knots were Palomar. Last week I had used the Improved clinch knot. LOL Today I was in a hurry to retie and actually grabbed the line and pulled on my oldclinch knot..the line broke like 10 pound Trilene.
When I tied on the Palomar it would not break when I pulled on it. I guess the twisting makes the knot weak. It didn't come on tied it actually breaks right at the knot.

Cast ability...I'm very impressed on how Power Pro cast...It works great on my spinning reral and cast a long ways..the bait casters cast long and smooth as well. It does turn white but the fish don't seemto mind. Actually for us guys who need reading glasses..the Palomar knot is for us..you don't need glasses to tie that knot. I now use it with my Rooster Tails as well. The improved clinch is great for Mono but not for braid.IMHO

big 10-4 on the clicnh knot for braid it slips easily
To make the line tougher to see after it turns white is to take a sharpie and color 10 ft of line black
On another note i try to replace the line when it turns white like a bone to get all of the strength i can out of it
I use strictly 50 lb on mine chuck i gurantee you would be happier with 50 on your spinning reels. I can fish any bass lure you can imagine on 50 lb with out a problem
