mudbug
This is one of the all time favorite crawfish imitating crankbaits. The Mud-Bugs quick diving wide wiggle creates a hard vibrating action and ensures its ability to run deep and bump the bottom. This unique action has made it a big fish favorite of serious anglers. Its high floatability allows it to back out of heavy cover on a slack line eliminating potential hang-up situations. One of the best times to fish a Mud-Bug is during the early Spring when the big bass are in a pre-spawn situation. Make sure that the lure comes in contact with the bottom and surrounding cover to ensure more strikes. Heavy line is a must when fishing this lure through and around thick, heavy cover.
Model No. G22 - This model Mud-Bug weighs 5/8 of an ounce and is the favorite size for the big bass fisherman. Its heavier weight gives it the ability to be cast a great distance and stay in contact with the bottom for a greater distance per cast increasing your chances of getting a strike.
Model No. G20 - This smaller size Mud-Bug weighs in at ΒΌ of an ounce and is made to fish in shallower depths 4 to 6 ft. This lure produces a lot of bass when fished right before the spawn in early Spring. You should always try to keep this lure in contact with the bottom

fred arborgast mudbugs, not only will they catch fish, they give you forearms like popeye[:-]

Yes..as a boy in maryland that was my secret bait before I discovered Rooster Tail..A killer largemouth bass bait with the 2 1/2 " model. I had the older Ikes and sold them with my other antique lures at a garage sale. I lov ethe action...I used it in a community pond. They go down about 2 to 3 feet and wobble. Mr. bass will attack the daylights out of it.

Next question..

which I will start a thread on.
Whatare the 3 lures you use everytime you bass fish?

Phil... I'd probably rather flyfish for brookies, browns, OR rainbows than bluegills, but I'd much rather EAT the bluegills, even as good as wild brookies taste... I had some good dry fly fishing last spring in the Kennebec while I was in Maine...Hunted gobblers until noon and then fished in the afternoon...Hard to beat for a spring day..

Downrigger...

For landlocks..Trolling streamers or spoons...??..
