Deep Fired..I made the best specks/crappie I've ever eatten in my life..I was surprized to find I still have 2 packs of fillets in the freezer..

Here's my favorite way yo fix them..
We buy a big container of 'Fish Fry ' mixtrure from Sams..

-- soak in salt water for a couple hours..
--then soak in buttermiklk over night.
-- put about 1/2 " of peanut oil in the cast iron skillet
-- let oil get pop in hot.THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU DON'T WANT GREASY FISH
--put about 2 cups of the 'Fish fry' in a plstic grocery bag..
-- Shake fillets in mixture..
--Carefully put fillets in the popin hot oil..cook on med. high
--Fry on both sides..fillets will be crisy and firm..

EVERYONE LOVES THESE BABIES..

NEXT QUESTION...favorite fishing beverage

Gatoraid, Soda , Water..

Gatorade/Powerade, whichever is cheaper. Snacks are very vital in tournament fishing. It can get very hard to concentrate and fatigue can set in and negatively affect fishing. I truly believe this.

Catch and Keep or Catch and Release?

Depending on where and what yer fishing for, but i love drop offs, anything can happen on a drop off!!

next question, whats more satisfiying, catchin a huge fish on a store bought lure, or an average fish on a lure you made yourself?

Self gratification is way more important to me. I carve my own spearing decoys, and last year was my first year. To watch that 30inch Northern look that thing in the face and then viciously attack it was exciting. Something I will keep for the rest of my life, store bought things are just a price tag.

Hula popper or Jitterbug?

Hula popper.

Which is more fun fishing with a bamboo rod and string or modern day rods and techniques.
