Slick water brother...with a ten foot jon..choppy is not fun.
I would have picked fishing too..but only because of where I live. I've been studying northern Florida intently and my wife and I plan to relocate in a few years..When we do..I would pick hunting. Right now...I live in bass world..

how can you not kno??? ahhhh jk. you really need to try it before you die, its very fun. today i even went with my great uncle.
and for your question chuck, i believe it depends on the mood your in and what your going for. but probably with some1 that your good friends with or close too.

Florida Spawning honey holes...choose one
1.Stained water with grass beds 3- 6 feet deep
2. Murky water near cat tails 3-6 feet deep
3. hydrilla flats water 3- 6 feet deep ..need power pro here[8D]
4. Lots of islands with willows outstretched..3 - 6 feet deep.

alone allows you better boat position to fish parallel with the bank covering more prime water.
When flipping I agree about being alone..Everyone hates the back of the boat when flipping and pitching. and..haviong a small jon boat can get really cramped. I seemto do much better when I'm by myself.
Now..the answer ot the question...Texas rig ...because I'm in a jon boat. I feel one needs a long rod and a big boat to make that long sweeping hook set required for Carolina fishing. That is my opinion
