I would like to hear from seasoned hunters on some concepts of ballistics that I have heard as hang time, or dwell time, and as I recall, it had to do with a bullet at modest velocity doing significant tissue damage. I have found this idea hard to get a grip on, because things like this seem to have so much to do with the particular bullet. Eg, the reputation of the 6.5 x55 Swede; the effectiveness of lead revolver bullets, the long lasting populartiy of the .35 Remington, and the hunting ability of the 45-70 over the decades. One note comes to mind about how the English put a 200 grain bullet on their .38 smith & wesson equivalent and actually ended up with a piece about as effective as the old .455 webley. (That's heresy in modern ballistics discussions!) As a veteran, I don't shoot much game (I eat what I shoot when huning,) and I am not going to dwell on the antipersonnel end of this. But I would be interested if any of the active hunters have given much thought to this. (Assuming that I just made sense!) Thanks
