Default Winchester 1300 Defender

Hey yall. I need some opinions/reviews of the Winny Defender. I really like this gun along with several others
that I'm tryin to decide from. I really would like a 20gauge Defender. Any posts would be greatly appreciated.

I got a 1300 defender combo for Christmas in 1985 when I was 11 years old. It has perfoemed flawlessly for me ever since then. Not a single jam or failure in almost 20 years.

They aint the prettiest things in the world but they are rugged and reliable adn they won't break the bank.

I actually like the way the Winchester looks. More streamlined smooth look than Mossy or Rem. Maybe thats just me.

What I meant by pretty is the wood is just plane straight grained birch or walnut, basic checkering or none at all, no engraving etc.... Basically a no frills gun instead of looking like, say, a Benelli or Browning.

I don't like to buy too many pretty guns myself. I seem to not want to take them out much to get beat up when I am hunting hard. I much prefer a rugged gun that will take the abuse it will get. The 1300 is one of these.

Yep same here. You hit the nail on the head bigbulls. Shoot, I just checked with Davidsons at galleryofguns.com and found a 20 Ga. Defender for $220 Not bad eh? Not gonna buy it from there, but I could if I wanted to.
