My buddy has a XD .40 sub compact, I love the pistol overall. Being a sub compact it is too small for my hand but it is a very solid feeling and shooting pistol. Gets pretty good groups for having such a short barrel too.

The XD's are great little pistols. I have a hard time straying from Sig Sauer as far as semi-autos go though...they stand the test every time! Cost a little more, but they are great! Either will suit folks well. I love the little Sig .380 ACP...so compact and comes with a neat little belt clip holster. Hard to beat as a carry gun, unless you want more firepower. I tend to lean toward revolvers, though. Love the S&W airweights so much I have a hard time going to anything else. JMO

Guns are like autos, not every one is perfect or near so. I have had good Remingtons and bad, same goes for colts, s&w etc. Because one may be bad, taint necessaryily so for all. Seems like all gunmakers make a bad run at some point, then quality control takes over.
Croatia did make the XD or a model similar, till Springfield bought them out several years ago. Surprisingly, or not, the price immediately jumped $100.00. To my knowledge, they are still made there. Lifetime warranty? I thought that Charles Daly had a lifetime warranty, till they went out of business very suddenly.
