Boy someone in here is a true Remington fan. Probably because of the fact that they are so close minded and can't accept change even if its for the better.
Lighten up Bronco, it was obvious I was just joking. No need to get personal. I don't even own a Rem 700 30.06. My 30.06 is a Browning A-Bolt. My .223 is a Savage with an accu-trigger, I also own Winchesters, Marlins, Ruger, Rossi and more. I do however own several Remington 700's and they are, by far, my very favorite rifles.

OK colorado - I apologize. I didn't mean that to soundpersonal. Just sort of came out that way. It just that a few people in here think whatever they have is the greatest. I know there are some people in here that all they own or have ever owned is Remingtons and put down other manufactures even though they do not have any experience with them. And that really gets my goat. And like Duval said... buying a gun is like buying a car. To each their own.

I have a Savage and it shoots great. I was thinkng about upgrading to a Rem 700 till I started to load my own. Now I dont see a reson to. The stock is a little dinged up but a new polymer stock will fix that up.I didnt know what roling my own would make such a differance. If I buy a new Center Fire Rifle I wont get another 30.06 cuz I love my Savage right now. I will however get a bigger caliber in time. .338???

Who is the best baseball team.... who has the best football team... which is better Ford, chevy or Dodge?
hehehehehehehehehe lmao
Heeeeerrrrrrrreeeee we go again!
I think what sheridan said pretty much sums it up... look, hold, fondle them all..... the right rifle will pick you!
On a personal note... I have them all... yup, shot pretty much everything made here or imported at one time or the other and.... IMHO only, will say that although I once was a devout Remington fan, here of late big green has been turning out some turds.(my opinion,I can say that. Don't mean it's right!lol)I have been sporting Savages for many years and prefer them over all the others. TheSavageshave proven to be the most accurate consistantly and less expensive thanmost ofthe others.
Tikkas are.... well, they are... n..ni..nice!
Hey... do you know the difference between a accurate rifle and a very accurate rifle.....about a thousand dollars.(laugh) hehehe
So, decide how much you're willing to pay for this thing and go from there. Evaluate all the models in your price range then find them at the local shooting emporium and fondle them... the right rifle will follow you home!

For me, shooting is like flyfishing. I have caught just as many fish with my $100 St. Croix asI have with my $500 Sage. A poor carpenter blames his tools. It doesnt matter what you get as long as it shoots straight and it puts meat in the freezer.
